He Said He Wishes The Peace
By: J.J. (jjblue10@hotmail.com)

He said he wishes the peace.
He looks them to depart, to exit, to close the door at their shoulders, their recognition badges on the table.
Unmoved.
Abandoned.
He said he wishes the peace.
And he takes his head between his hands.
He said he is ready to make everything to have it.
He said it to the Deathculas who helped him.
He said it and he received hopeful gazes.
It's the right thing, go on.
He said he wishes the peace.
He said it to the other Commanders, to the other Earthly like him.
He said it and he received comprehension.
Them too.
They are tired to fight; they are ready to try.
It's the right thing, go on.
He said he wishes the peace.
He said it to the Bismark pilots.
He said it and he received worried gazes.
Is it possible to thrust in the Deathculas? Is it possible?
But they are ready to help him. And to protect him.
It's the right thing, go on.
He said he wishes the peace.
He is ready to make everything to have it.
He said it in the assembly with the Deathcula Ambassador.
He said it.
And Perios... Perios looked at him.
The young Deathculas' Commander only looked at him for a second.
And differently from the others he didn't believe him.
Or maybe was it only his impression?
Why shouldn't he believe him?
The Deathculas needs that peace more than them.
They have a desperate need of it.
They are dieing.
And Perios doubts about him.
About them.
That boy gave himself the luxury to doubt about him.
Who is he for doing it?
Who are the Deathculas for doubting about them?
Maybe does they think all are like them?
And after all he wishes the peace, doesn't he?
He wishes.
The peace.
The liberty.
The happiness.
They are things that everyone wants.
Now he knows the Deathculas too want them.
They too.
It's strange, isn't it?
And Perios dares to doubt about him.
No, that must be his impression.
The young Commander's tone is always naturally sceptic as his eyes are always naturally cold.
There was nothing to read in that.
But they seemed to say...

"Liar."

He was sure Perios thought that...

"Liar."

Idiocies he wants the peace...

"Liar."

Not an exclamation, not an accuse, only a world, a sure thing...

"Liar."

And a voice puts itself on Perios' one:
"We can't believe them! We must destroy them before they destroy us!"

He recognises the voice.
Bill.
He doesn't use soft words when he speaks.
He hates the Deathculas.
He has no problem to admit that.
But he said he wishes the peace.
He wishes.
The two young Deathculas he saw.
Lovers.
They wished for a world for them.
Even if this meant to take it away from someone else.
Honest in their love.
Honest in their egoism.
But he said he wishes the peace.
He wishes.
"Why must I worry about your people? Who cares if they are destroyed? It's my people the important one."
They are the words of a Deathcula, which now are echoing in his mind.
A soldier, he doesn't remember well who he was.
At that time he didn't understand them.
He didn't know the Deathculas' planet was dieing.
Now he knows.
But he said he wishes the peace.
But he said he wishes the peace!
He is ready to make everything to have it!
Right?

"Liar."

An unsaid word.
Maybe only a thought.
Or a vague idea.
An intuition.

"Liar."

And it's true. It's true. God it's true.
Oh, not completely true.
Only... only his idea of peace isn't different to the others' one.
He wants the peace for himself.
For who he loves.
He doesn't care to have the peace for all.
For himself it's enough.
And for few others.
He doesn't thrust in the Deathculas. Basically he doesn't like them. Maybe cause he was been their prisoner?
He is scared by Hyuza. His uncommon height, his distort voice, that mask that covers his face and makes him resemble more a monster that a man. Maybe because Hyuza had his life in his hands?
He doesn't tolerate Perios. His confidence, his ability, his young age, the constant impression he judges the other and looks down at all. Maybe because he is scared by the idea that he can be right? That he can know more than him?
And so why?
Why to accept?

Because he could. He could accept unworried the Deathculas' peace offer.
He could let Bismark, his daughter's pride, to be destroyed without regret.
And he could dissolve unworried the group who piloted it risking their lives.
He could.
Why?
Confidence?
Idealism?
Ingenuity?
Rashness?
Honesty?
No, nothing of that.
Only... he had the knowledge.
Of a secret, of something that only few know.
Of something powerful.
Of something he could use.
To protect himself.
To answer to an attack.
To win.
Perios looked at him at that time.

"Liar."

Liar? No, he isn't.
He always said the truth.
Well an interpretation of that.
He spoke cautiously.
Transformed concepts like disarm in: "Destruction of all our arms the Deathculas know."
Perios didn't believe him.
Maybe he is really a good Commander.
Maybe it was when he asked to see the destruction of the Deathculas arms he betrayed himself.
He had to do it. He had to control.
But maybe in that moment he let to appear something.
And Perios did the same request.
But he can't imagine what he hides.

"Liar."

Liar? No. It is strategy. He is a soldier. With more experience than Perios. The boy can't, must not compete.
He said him he wishes the peace.
He said him he will make everything to obtain it.
He said the truth.
He will make all he can.
Included to be ready to kill all the Deathculas.
At their first error?
Sure.
But is it really necessary to wait for an error?

Author's notes:
If "It's just pain" was the point of view of a soldier over war and peace "He said he wishes the peace" is, on the contrary, the point of view of a "politician", a "powerful man". They're two points of view completely opposite but which complete each other. And it's not a case that while Bill ends wishing the peace Louvre ends planning the war. As for Louvre being OOC or not in this story... well, it's difficult to say. Apparently Louvre in the series is a peaceful man, a man who says "he wishes the peace". But... well, he doesn't persuade me, he didn't persuade me not even after I had the chance to watch "Seijushi Bismark". He isn't a real "peaceful man" if you ask me.
